Reset Netgear Range Extender –

There are two ways to reset your Netgear range extender, First by pressing the factory reset button and the Second one is by using a web user interface.

A factory reset deletes all personalized settings including your user name, password, network name (SSID), and security settings. A factory reset is necessary when you cannot recover your range extender’s admin password.

Hard Reset Netgear Range Extender –

Make sure you reset the range extender while it’s plugged into the power.

  • Look for an object like a pen or a paper clip.
  • On the bottom of the extender look for the Factory Reset button
  • Press and hold the reset button using a paper clip or pen and wait for at least 5 seconds or until the device to extender LED blinks amber.
  • Release the Factory Reset button and wait for the extender to reboot.
  • Once rebooted, your extender is back to its factory default settings.
  • Congratulation, You have successfully Restore all settings of your Netgear range extender.

Soft Reset Netgear Range Extender (Web User Interface, GUI)

In order to soft reset use a computer that is connected to the extender via wired or wireless connection.

  • Plug your Netgear range extender to power and connect the Ethernet cable from the computer to extender or via wireless.
  • Note – The Device of extender LED lights blink solid green to indicate that a device is currently connected.
  • Open your internet browsers such as Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, or Google Chrome.
  • Enter www.mywifiext.net in the address bar of your internet browser. (If Not working then try this Ip Address 192.168.1.250.)
  • On the login page, type your Email and Password and click Log In. (Use the default username as “admin” and password as “password”)
  • On the NETGEAR genie page, click Settings then Other Settings.
  • Click Reset. Click Yes to proceed.
  • Wait for the web user interface to finish resetting the device to factory default settings.
  • The extender resets.

After it has been rebooted please plug it to the power outlet and start setting up like a brand new extender.
